When i realized how fast the papers were coming up it made me panic. i think its hard to pick a random topic and write about it. there are so many topics in the world to write about and then to have to narrow it down is actually more difficicult then i thought it was going to be. so the first topic that i decided to write about is something that used to be a big controversy, but really doesnt get brought up too much anymore: womens rights in the workplace and discrimination.
this is an important topic to me because i get treated like shit at the place where i work. all of the guys think they can talk to me and treat me however hey damn well please and its completely disrespectful and rude.
in this paper i started out by using background information and statisitics on what the full time working woman used to make compared to a man, and then what the full time working woman makes to a man now. and surprisingly it is still 23 cents less to a mans whole dollar. So, this is something i feel wound catch any womans attention and draw them into wanting to read the paper.
then i also put my own experience in and talked about how there is sex discrimination at my job and what they do that i cant. i also put other peoples experience and stories in and talked about what was said in the interview that i conducted. also i found information with peoples stories and how they have sewed people for sex and race discrimination in the workplace. it happens alot more than people may realize. many people think it has died and that there isnt any discrimination, but there in fact still is.

blog 3: what if?....
I am sure that many, if not all of everyone has heard the claims that the world is going to end in 2012. well no matter how much evidence the people think they have and even though they think that since the Mayan calender is the world is going to end. well i just absolutely don't believe it. i don't understand the reasoning that a calender ending, the world is ending. why don't they just make a new calender? i don't think that any one can predict that for our future and even so i think that there is more evidence needed. i think that by now there would be more factual evidence and scientists would be able to tell by the activities of the earth.
Even though i don't believe this will actually happen, i cant help but wonder what if. like what if the world is going to end, it makes me rethink what i am doing with my life. should i be going to school, or am i paying out the ass for no reason. should i be focusing on a future i might not have, or should i be more concerned with what is happening as of right now? should i be living for the moment and not care or should i be cracking down to get a 4.0. i think that if the world was actually going to end they wouldn't still be encouraging people to do something with their lives. i think that since the movie "2012" came out it persuaded people that this is actually going to happen and that is how its going to be. well we have too much technology to not know that its actually going to happen and when and how and all that movie was, was a Hollywood stunt and a couple millions in special effects.
so what if the world is going to end? is it all just a big mishap for attention from the world or will it really happen. well i don't believe it will and wont until i see proof for myself.

blog #3
i think that in school and out of school writing can and have become two totally differen things. when i write in school i take me time. i use full words, i dont use abbreviations, and i actually make sense out of what i am writing. its easier to write papers for school than if i was to have to do a paper for example a reseme or job application. i think that writing out of school has become pure laziness, for example texting. texting is one of the biggest forms of writing and reading people do now a days. and i know off first hand that no one sends full out words in texts, there is always an abbreviation for a word in order to make the text shorter.
i think this is becoming harmful to the youths learning skills. this is because for one, they are not learning the proper way to spell and write, which coul dreally influence their future. lets say for example, they have to give a big speech in order to pass college, and they don't spell half of their words right and studer alot while talking. if their future job requires them to be intellegent, then whos to say they'll get the job.
there are times where i have found myself using text format when writing a paper, and i know that if i went all the way through school with out a cell phone and texting just became a big thing, then i could only imagine what it is going to do to younger kids, who are getting cell phones by the time they are in grade school. one example is my younger sister is in 6th grade and was talking about a girl getting her phone taken away in the middle of class. when i was that age i never would've thought about having or taking my cell phone to school.
i think that schools should really focus on their students reading and writing skills when they are young and continue it all the way up through high school. writing is a big part of anyones life and shouldn't be taken lightly.

Sun Worshipper
An estimated 30 million Americans have turned to indoor sun bathing when the weather is to bad for outdoor sun bathing. Well, alot of people are against this. Many dermatologists are putting messages out there that there has been an increase of melanoma and if you go around to different doctors offices, or just read around, there are brochures against tanning, and facts about an increase in skin cancer. Well, if anyone was to do some proper sun bathing research, then they would see that most of it is just a scare.
Sure there have been cases where tanning, indoor and outdoor, have led to the cause of cancer. But if the person has skin cancer that runs through their family, then sure, tanning would help increase their chances at getting it. But if people were to tan the "smart" way, then it would help to prevent cancer. What i mean by the smart way is that indoor tanning helps prevent sunburn. Since tanning is natural for a person's body, helping prevent sunburn, that may sometimes come along with outdoor tanning, it may help skin from becoming permanently scarred or damaged. Also, tanning salons teach people how their skin type will react to the UV rays, and will only allow a person to go for a certain amount of time, depending on their skin type.
Tanning also has health benifits. Did you know that Humans make 90 percent of their vitamin D from sun exposure? And that UVB rays produce vitamin D, which is healthy for a person's skin. I think that everyone should look past the scared of tanning and give it a chance. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be, as long as tan in moderation. I absolutely love tanning, and it's not just the idea of being tan, it's also actually extremely relaxing as well!
